Data Center Alwernia

The Polcom Data Center services are available in two facilities in Poland - near to Katowice and near to Kraków. The customers can choose the location to maintain their services or infrastructure. Due to the availability of two data centers, customers can colocate their resources in several places at once, which ensures the creation of a redundant solution required for increased security. Thanks to a direct connection between the two centers with dedicated links, customers receive a highly efficient top-level infrastructure.

Polcom  launched a new data centre in December 2015 in Alwernia city  - near to Katowice - and currently administers a total colocation space of 6,500 square metres (12,000 square metres gross).

The data centre in Alwernia uses an innovative cooling system - DLC (Direct Liquid Cooling) - thus significantly reducing the costs associated with power consumption and improving cooling efficiency. The system is based on a breakthrough belief that nothing cools as well as warm water - as it turns out, there is a lot of truth in that approach. The process consists in the immediate dissipation of heat generated by electronic equipment located in our data centre through the liquid. Due to the fact that the processors usually operate at a temperature of not more than 50°C, directly feeding them water at a temperature up to 35°C is able to be cool them down appropriately. As a result, there is no need for the generation of cooled water, which in turn means considerable savings in terms of electricity consumption.

That is why we have  PUE < 1,1
